Mental Health & Emotional Well-being in Slovakia

Slovakia is a country in Central Europe with a population of about 5.5 million people. The  country has a relatively high standard of living and a well-developed healthcare system.  However, there are still some challenges to emotional well-being in Slovakia.

One challenge is the high suicide rate. In 2019, Slovakia had the second-highest suicide  rate in the European Union. There are a number of factors that contribute to this, including  social isolation, economic hardship, and mental health problems.

Another challenge is the stigma associated with mental health problems. This can make it  difficult for people to seek help for their problems. There is a need for more awareness and  education about mental health in Slovakia.

Efforts to improve emotional well-being

There are a number of efforts underway to improve emotional well-being of youngsters in  Slovakia. The government has launched a number of initiatives, including a national  suicide prevention strategy. There are also a number of NGOs working to promote mental  health and well-being such as IPčko,CARITAS, Slovak Humanitarian Council

The importance of emotional well-being

Emotional well-being is important for a number of reasons. It can help people to live  longer, healthier lives. It can also help people to be more productive at work and school.  And it can help people to build stronger relationships.

Tips for improving emotional and mental well-being

Stress is the body’s response to demanding situations, triggering a cascade of  physiological and psychological reactions. It can arise from various sources, including  work, relationships, and financial pressures. My biggest inspiration in fresh thinking is a  Wim Hof.Wim Hof, known as “The Iceman,” practices extreme cold exposure and

breathing techniques, promoting their health benefits, including increased resilience and  stress reduction.

1. Breathing

For short-term stress relief, slower breathing and establishing what I want to do will help.

2. Ice bathing

I prefer the ice bath because it is more cooling and I enjoy it more than the ice shower. It  helps me sleep better and have more energy.

3. Sport

Some people prefer to walk the dogs, but I prefer the gym or running

4. Connection with others

Spending time with loved ones, getting involved in social activities, and volunteering can all  help to improve emotional well-being.
