From May 6 to 11,2024 a team of youth workers from Estonia visited the wonderful city of Soverato in southern Italy. Invited and in cooperation with the organization Associazione Jump in, within the framework of the “MINDFUL YOUTH PROJECT” and with the financial support of the Erasmus+ program, training for youth workers and experience exchange were conducted. We received a lot of useful information and new knowledge that we will use in Estonia while working with youth.
Our first experience of using the new knowledge was the project “Youth Without Stress.”
During the project, participants had various meetings and lectures with interesting specialists in the field of mental health. The youth learned what mental health is and why it is important for everyone, learned about emotions, what they are, and how to recognize them. They learned how to help themselves be in harmony with themselves and how to help others. They also learned about various organizations where they can get help and support.
In the project, participants not only listened to lectures but also actively participated in practical assignments where they could use their acquired knowledge.
The project on mental health was successful and achieved its goals. It is important to continue working in this direction to maintain a high level of awareness and support in the field of mental health.
The project was organized with the support of youth initiatives in 2023-2024 and is part of the strategic partnership between the Estonian Association of Open Youth Centers and the Ministry of Education and Science. Additionally, thanks to the experience gained from the “MINDFUL YOUTH PROJECT” and Erasmus+. The “Ideepuhur” youth initiative project competition is implemented by the Estonian Association of Open Youth Centers and funded by the Ministry of Education and Science.
